ONCOLOGY PAYMENT REFORM

SEPTEMBER

9-10, 2024

The Summit is an annual, invite-only gathering of stakeholders who are exploring ways to transform cancer care to improve value, reduce costs, and ensure quality while providing a positive patient experience.

What is the Summit?

The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) Payer Exchange Summit on Oncology Payment Reform is an annual gathering of cancer care providers, payers, employers, employer health groups, benefits consultants, and others who are invested in transforming cancer care.

Each attendee is currently, or interested in becoming, an active participant in a public or private oncology payment reform effort that explores new ways of measuring, paying, or delivering cancer care that ensures patients receive the excellent standard of care they deserve.

Attendees gather to share knowledge and learn best practices for pursuing higher-quality cancer care with lower costs.

Can I Attend?

If you’re an independent community cancer care provider, public or private payer, employer, employer health group, benefits consultant, or industry leader who is participating, or is interested, in improving the quality and cost-efficiency of cancer care, then you qualify.

Attendance is by invitation only. We require that you and your organization be involved in a payment and delivery reform project and demonstrate a passion for improving the patient experience, increasing the quality of care, and making care more affordable.

If you are a cancer care provider or practice professional, you will be asked to provide contact information for an employer, employer health group, benefits consultant, or payer that you feel would benefit from this discussion.

We hope to see you September 9-10 at the Hyatt Regency Reston in Reston, Virginia!

PES 2024 Agenda Image

An Agenda Addressing All Your Questions

The past year has seen historic efforts to reform pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs), unprecedented examination of hospital costs and marketplace monopolies, and the announcement of the first round of drugs subject to Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) price controls. These and other developments will have significant effects on the cost of cancer care going forward.

At the 2024 COA Payer Exchange Summit, stakeholders will discuss the wide variety of challenges and opportunities they see in achieving successful oncology payment reform. Topics include:

  • Complexity and challenges of value-based contracts from a payer perspective
  • The impact – and limitations – of ERISA laws on reform efforts
  • The quest for disruption and transparency in pharmacy benefit managers
  • The importance of Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID)
