Employer Provider Interface Council (EPIC) is a sister organization of HQF, comprised of various healthcare professionals dedicated to transforming employer-provider healthcare collaboration. It is the mission of EPIC to provide insight, information, and guidance to employer and provider decision makers by providing an environment that allows key stakeholders to focus thought, develop key metrics, and design care management strategies that effect change within populations of patients.

Through the employer-provider interaction, EPIC convenes or facilitates informed decisions on how best to structure care for the benefit of their shared population. This allows for better, more effective patient care, improved financial performance and a better overall delivery process.

The goal of EPIC is to focus on making change happen through the economics and decision-making process in real-world health care. EPIC creates an environment that allows key stakeholders to focus on care management strategies that effect positive change within the shared population of patients. The results of our work balances key economic issues with clinical evidence to provide consensus based education, publications, and white papers.

By establishing a communicative partnership between employers and healthcare providers, EPIC

  • helps employers and providers take a more active role in managing their shared healthcare investment.
  • provides employers and providers with access to highly qualified individuals with experience and expertise in health care quality and medicine.
  • creates resources that both payers and providers need to be able to understand and critically assess the applicability of new treatment modalities to their own situation, in order to make informed medical policy decisions.
  • is the only national group that is a collaborative and integrated group of employers and providers who work with all organizations in all areas:
    • Employers as a group, Business Groups or Coalitions
    • Clinical societies or associations
    • Advocacy groups
    • Healthcare administration and management groups
    • Health insurance and legal groups
  • Convenes the WellSpent Forum, Linking Business & Healthcare:
